“Seven Deadly Sins

Wealth without work
Pleasure without conscience
Science without humanity
Knowledge without character
Politics without principle
Commerce without morality
Worship without sacrifice.”
Mahatma Gandhi
"I do not believe in the doctrine of the greatest good of the greatest number. The only real, dignified, human doctrine is the greatest good of all."
Mahatma Gandhi
"The greatness of humanity is not in being human, but in being humane."
Mahatma Gandhi

One caste, one religion, one God for man; one form and the same blood in all;
I cannot find any differences.
There is no reason for caste differences among human beings. All those who possess humanity are human beings. Just as there are different languages and different systems, though human beings seem to be different, there can be no reason for caste differences. Humanity is common to all.
Men may differ in their faiths, their languages and their modes of dressing; but there can be no evil in inter-dining and inter-marriage, because all belong to the same kind of creation.
Sri Narayana Guru

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"
(Matthew 5.43-45 ESV)

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
--Martin Luther King, Jr. "I Have a Dream" speech, August 28, 1963
“For great men, religion is a way of making friends; small people make religion a fighting tool.”
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power Within India

Development issues cannot be contained within national boundaries. It's essential that we reach the global centers of power to fight not just centralized planning, but privatization-based planning.  -MedhaPatkar Indian Social Activist

Human existence is, in fact, a radical and profound tension between good and evil, between dignity and indignity, between decency and indecency, between the beauty and the ugliness of the world.
-Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of Freedom

Crime breeds crime and murder breeds murder. The Hon’ble Courts of this country should keep in mind the best interest of the society while passing any horrendous sentence like death penalty. The Hon’ble Court must keep in mind the morale of the society while passing any judgement like death penalty. As Baccaria quotes, ”All Capital Punishments are wrong in itself and unjust. There are two ways in which death sentence could be justified. Firstly, if such a sentence would prevent a revolution against a popularly established government. Secondly, if the execution was the only way to deter others from committing a crime[8].” The Court should definitely take into account the pulse of the society while giving the sentence of death penalty. It should take into consideration whether the judgement passed would prevent others from committing the crimes. Death Penalty is not the answer for all the crimes. We need a humane solution for this.  -Justice V.R.KrishnaIyer

“Human beings the world over need freedom and security that they may be able to realize their full potential.”
-Aung San SuuKyi, from Myanmar

During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people, I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if it needs be it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.  -Nelson Mandela

There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God. I've always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic.     ~ Mother Teresa ~

 Swami Vivekananda, (1863-1902)
“Don't look back—forward, infinite energy, infinite enthusiasm, infinite daring, and infinite patience—then alone can great deeds be accomplished.”
“Understanding human nature is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing it can we know God? It is also a fact that the knowledge of God is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing God can we understand human nature”  Swami Vivekananda
